Interestingly your mail contacts are profiled as per the industries. This raises two questions
- How Google Gets this data and answer is obvious google knows it all.
- What about my privacy ? well this is something I am also concerned about but “I Don’t any way we can by pass this”
Simple because 1. Big mistake we use Gmail/google mail which employed multiple servers to read, understand and serve advertisements based on relevance. which also means I love you you are sending to your better half is not private any more. and you might see a beautiful greeting card advertisement next to it. this is ok to some extent because you will any way search for it.
But let me take you little, very little further and make a sensible enough assumption, that you got mail in your inbox as apposed to spam, and also consider you did open it by mistake and it turned out to be spam. Since our expensive spam detection systems fails and we can’t expect the smart email reading systems to fail at the sametime so they do read these so called spam. and add one more tag to your profile on <email@example.comfirstname.lastname@example.org>. it will continue .. for your spam related to financial fraud, pornography, piracy and what not ? mind you I am not scaring you!.
Now Since your searches are based on your past history and google profile you will be served with relevent searches. now they show you the financial information,P-graphy (not photography) information and I am not sure what else … because I can’t always predict the spam.
Now this gets aggregated again and again, organised beautifully in your profile, hidden from you and sorted based on date , time frequency on and on … similar to www.google.com/history 🙂 Yes you can draw beautiful and colourful profile graphs out it!
now lets go back to our beautiful google contacts interface we left out unfinished. All this data can be used to your profile and since this is part of the tag and internally google might put you in domains you dont want to be part of … because it can be financial fraud or p*grapher (lets hope photographer this time).
So this has huge implications on privacy, and CEO talking about privacy issues are there in (only) Social Networks when your cookie is till 2038 is it a joke?
I have no clue but warn you to Beware and Be Aware ! You are Profiled, and left no choice but to keep clicking.
unless you know privacy is myth!
